A DARTMOOR school has said goodbye to its preschool manager.

Jo Coaker has worked at Widecombe preschool for 20 years. During that time she has see many changes to the preschool which is run in the church hall at Widecome-in-the-Moor.

She has seen a lot of the local children grow up and has welcomed some of them back as parents or staff.

A spokesman said: ‘We were closed at the start of the lockdown but provided some online work and support to our families and reopened the doors for a few weeks back before the summer holidays.

‘The children gave her lots of flowers, a card and an apple tree to remind her of her time here.

‘We would have loved to give her a bigger send-off with more past pupils attending but that was not possible due to the current restriction.

‘The committee, staff and parents wish her every happiness in the future  and we will be recruiting for a new manager over the summer. I you are interested please contact us on [email protected].’

The school is fortunate to have plenty of outdoor space for the children, a including a sensory garden recently improved by a Co-op funding grant.
