A GROUP of students from Coombeshead Academy, Newton Abbot, have been busy helping out a food bank in the run-up to Christmas.
The Year 9 youngsters have been hard at work with volunteers at Homeless in Teignbridge food bank, making festive food parcels which have been dished out to families in the area.
As well as the heartwarming project, the dedicated bunch have been rallying around collecting food which will be used in their own hampers.
Head of year Mrs Marsh said: ‘I am very grateful and proud of all the hard work and contributions from Year 9 students and am pleased they have demonstrated such commitment and enthusiasm to become actively involved in a very worthwhile community project.’
