A TRIO of world class experts are holding a series of lectures on shell-shock in Newton Abbot.
Dr Tim Nicholson and Professor Edgar Jones from King’s College in London will be heading to Hannahs at Seale Hayne with Dr Jon Stone from Edinburgh University for the event.
The aim of the event is to educate the public about shell-shock and its related disorders including PTSD, Gulf War syndrome and Functional Neurological Disorder.
Seale-Hayne, now the base for charity Hannahs, was originally an agricultural college but was commandeered as a large military hospital for the treatment and rehabilitation of shell shock which was peaking 100 years ago in response to the horrors of World War One.
The series of lectures – which are free to attend – are taking place in the Great Hall at Seale-Hayne from 7pm until 9pm on May 18.
