A DRIVER has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after their vehicle collided with a tree on Higher Exeter Road this morning (Tuesday, July 21).
The single-vehicle crash was reported to Devon & Cornwall Police just before 7am, with the road blocked in both directions between Holcombe Down Road and Luscombe Hill.
Emergency services attended the scene and the driver was taken to hospital for treatment.
The incident caused delays for motorists during the morning commute as the road was closed while emergency crews dealt with the collision.
The road was cleared and reopened at around 9.30am, with traffic returning to normal.
Police have confirmed no other vehicles were involved.
