A MAN caught with thousands of pounds worth of cocaine has been handed over to Border Force after police found him to be in the UK illegally.

Officers were made aware of a vehicle of interest in the Christow area acting suspiciously, with the possibility it being involved in criminality.

Details of the vehicle were submitted for intelligence development.

The car was soon spotted in Exeter, again acting in a suspicious manner.

The driver of the vehicle attempted to flee when asked to stop, but was quickly located by Exeter Neighbourhood Officers.

He was found in possession of 30 ‘snap bags’ of cocaine, which had an estimated a street value of approximately £3,000.

The driver was found to be in the UK illegally and was handed over to Border Force.
