A WHIST drive that has raised more than £50,000 for charity since starting in the 1990s returns to Liverton in December.

The event has been organised by villager Douglas Nosworthy.

‘My late wife started the whist drives some 26 years ago, and it is a very popular event’, says Douglas.

The whist drive takes places at 7.30pm on Saturday, December 6.

This year the event is raising money for The Little Princess Trust.

Tickets are £4 on the door, with raffle rickets costing £1.

There are several festive prizes to be won: Turkey crown, Christmas cakes and alcohol.
