More horses and ponies, like Dipsybell modelling a donated hat, can be rescued by the Mare and Foal Sanctuary with bric-a-brac sold in their shops.
The equine charity is appealing for donations to sell in their stores in the busy run-up to Christmas.
It wants to fill the shelves of its ten charity shops, dotted across Devon, in time for the festive holidays.
Dawn Green, retail operations manager at the charity, said: ‘This is always a really busy time of year for us and we want to be able to offer our customers a real variety of goods whenever they come in.
‘We have a warehouse team ready and waiting to sort it all out and we know our shops will be able to offer some really unusual gift ideas.
‘Our donations range from jewellery, clothes and shoes to lamps, curtains, ornaments and paintings. There really is no limit to the kind of items we need.
‘What for many people might be unwanted goods – even old and never used Christmas presents – could be a real find for someone else.’
The charity uses the income from the shops to help rescue, rehabilitate and train abandoned, mistreated or orphaned horses and ponies from all over the South West and South Wales.
They currently care for more than 300 horses, either on loan or being trained at their rehabilitation centres.
Dawn added: ‘Every penny we make goes towards the care of our beautiful horses and ponies. Without the kind donations of people all over the region we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.
‘So please think of us this Christmas.’
The charity has shops in Bovey Tracey, Dawlish and Newton Abbot.
