A CRACKdown has been launched on eyesore advertising banners strung out alongside Teignmouth roads.

There have been more and more complaints about the proliferation of unauthorised commercial advertising slogans at three busy junctions – Shaldon Bridge, the bottom of Exeter Road and the railway station.

Now Teignbridge Council wants to ban the banners, but one local councillor maintains it is an 'over-reaction' that will penalise community groups who want to publicise events.
