MORE than 100 folk plunged into the icy sea at Teignmouth, watched by a crowd of around 2,000, who must have been thinking, 'they're all barmy', writes John Ware. It has been a Boxing Day tradition for decades, and this year the dip was one of the most successful yet, despite the deep freeze. Donning all sorts of funny and bizarre fancy dress, they ran and walked into the sea and their efforts raised more than £2,000 for the Teignmouth lifeboat. 'We were concerned the very cold weather may have put people off, but Teignmouth did us proud again,' said Lorraine Lizius, chairman of the RNLI fundraising team.
