DAWLISH is top of the scoops when it comes to affordable ice creams.
The popular seaside town had a new perfect score and was ranked second overall in a poll of the Top Ten affordable seaside towns in the UK for ice creams.
Visitors are spoiled for choice with top-rated ice cream venues The Local Scoop and the Salty Dog Kiosk earning 4.9 and 4.7 respectively for value.
Overall Dawlish achieved a score of 97.5 according to money experts Moneyboat.
Dawlish only lost out of Bardsea in Cumbria which took top spot.
A Moneybag spokesman said: ‘With summer underway and more people flocking to the coast, one food instantly springs to mind when we think of the seaside: ice cream.
‘But with the cost of living continuing to rise and food prices climbing steadily, many beach goers are on the lookout for more affordable dining options.
‘With this in mind, the money experts at Moneyboat have analysed a range of factors to identify the most budget-friendly seaside towns in some of the UK’s to buy ice cream.
'By examining TripAdvisor data specifically overall ratings and scores for ‘value’ the experts uncovered which spots offer the best combination of taste and affordability.’
