HEALTH bosses have announced Dawlish Hospital’s Minor Injuries Unit will be closed again.
This time the unit, which reopened last year, will be shut until the end of this week.
Anyone with an urgent but not life-threatening injury or condition is advised to go to the Urgent Treatment Centre at Newton Abbot Hospital.
A spokesman for Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust said: ‘We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.’
The closure is described as ‘temporary’ but the unit has been closed numerous times over the last six months due to staff shortages or illness.
The unit, which opens Monday to Friday to treats minor injuries such as cuts, sprains and scalds, was previously shut for four years until campaigners called for it to reopen.
