DAWLISH Coastguard have been called out twice in recent weeks, helping a casualty after a fall into the water and taking part in a search for a missing person.

The first call came on September 4, when the team was sent to Cockwood after a person entered the water.

The casualty had managed to get themselves out before coastguards arrived and was later assessed by South Western Ambulance Service.

On September 15, the team joined Devon and Cornwall Police and fellow coastguard teams in a search for a missing person in the Watcombe area.

A police drone detected a heat source, allowing search teams to be directed to the missing person, who was found safe and well.
