A DAWLISH care home is in the running for four awards for its dedication to looking after its residents.

Sefton Hall, one of four homes run by Southern Healthcare, has been nominated for: Care Home of the Year by South West Care Awards; Best Care Home 2025 by the National Care Awards; Regional Care Home of the Year South, and Dementia Care Team of the Year by Caring UK Awards.

The home in Plantation Terrace, has a specific dementia wing where specialist care is offered to support residents living with very advanced dementia and mental health diagnosis.

It’s last CQC rating in 2020 was outstanding.

Owners Southern Healthcare have been nominated for a total of eight national and three regional care awards, earning them a place at the finals of several prestigious award ceremonies for its homes which are also situated in Plymouth, Seaton and Exeter.

Managing director Geoffrey Cox commented: ‘Our care teams work tirelessly and with compassion to deliver high quality care, which is deeply person centred.

‘They have created vibrant homes full of possibility, where they build meaningful relationships and bring laughter and moments of joy into everyday.’

The care group has been nominated in two categories by the Neurological and Complex Care Awards for Outstanding Complex Care Provider, and for offering Exceptional Training and Development.

It has also been nominated for Care Group of the Year, and Best Initiative in Care, for the Dawlish training centre, by Caring UK Awards.
