Teignmouth U15s returned to action after three weeks without a game with an emphatic win over Torquay.

Teignmouth knew they were going to have a battle up front, with the Torquay forwards dominating many passages of play, but it was their back division which was the difference between the two sides.

From the kick-off the visitors produced quick ball at every opportunity, enabling outside centre Josh Davey to run in two quick tries in quick succession.

Right wing Bryan Nicholls scampered over, with Davey adding another two, with Jack Saunders adding one conversion for a half time score 27-0.

In the second half, Teignmouth made several changes, which included new arrival Sam Kitson making his debut for the club.

Teignmouth's captain Joe Abbot then picked up a loose ball to cross the line, before number eight Jake Monnington scored from a well-worked lineout move; Saunders kicking both conversions to extend the score to 41-0.

With 20 minutes to go, Torquay's heavier forwards got themselves into the game with two converted tries.

Teignmouth hit back and tried to counter, but a wayward pass was collected by Torquay, which they capitalised with to score.

However, it was Davey who had the last word with a try after another of his blistering runs. Shaun Bayliss stepped up to convert and complete the scoring.
