A DARTMOOR-based recycling project is one of six ‘planet-positive’ projects from across Devon going from strength to strength in their bid to crowdfund their environmental ideas and unlock a share of £30,000 match funding from Devon County Council of up to £5,000 per project.

This is the second phase of funding made available by the council through #BackTheFuture Devon Climate Challenge initiative which is helping to support Devon-based projects tackling the climate emergency in the county.

One of the projects is Upcycled Glass Project, a community interest start-up looking to raise money to open a new sustainable glass blowing workshop on Dartmoor.

The workshop will use a mixture of waste glass and local, sustainably sourced materials.

With just over a week left of their campaigns, the projects have already unlocked over £14,000 worth of match funding from the council, as well as raising a further £23,000 from the ‘wider-crowd’.

Another scheme is the Inspire Devon’s Children about Climate Change which is aiming to inspire Devon’s children to help tackle climate change with a range of fun, engaging and educational teaching resources for schools.
