YOUNG people with an interest in the environment have just days left to apply for a unique Dartmoor skills programme.

The deadline for applications to Dartmoor National Park Authority’s Future Skills programme is Sunday, September 13.

The free, fully funded scheme is aimed at 16 and 17-year-olds considering a career in green spaces, with the five-day programme taking place at Shallowford Farm from October 26.

Participants will get hands-on experience in archaeology, peatland management and wildlife surveys, alongside opportunities to meet environmental professionals and other young people.

The programme is funded by AMEX through the UK National Parks Foundation and The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
