A MAN has been charged with a string of offences for taking and disturbing rare protected birds as well as their nests and eggs.

Jason North, 49, has been accused of tampering with the nests and eggs of a Peregrine Falcon, Hobby and Little-Ringed Plover on sites across Dartmoor.

It is alleged the Plymouth man also tampered with a Golden Eagle and Osprey in Scotland.

Mr North faces 14 allegations under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. All offences are believed to have taken place in 2016.

He is set to appear before magistrates in Plymouth on May 3.
