PLANNERS look set to say yes to the £20 million Teignmouth Morrisons project – provided the supermarket giant coughs up cash to boost the town centre.
Traders broadly welcome the scheme, hoping it will encourage more people to visit the resort.
But they are worried it could hit some shops, and want safeguards.
The development is being recommended for approval at Teignbridge Council Planning Committee on Monday – with conditions.
Morrisons would have to guarantee making a financial contribution 'towards projects aimed at sustaining the vitality and viability' of the town centre, in accordance with a national scale.
