A TEIGNMOUTH fireman is aiming to cycle 1,100 miles across France and Spain in a week to raise money for his sick nephew.

James Tribble, 38, set off on his marathon with colleagues on Wednesday.

He said Corey Hill – who has just celebrated his third birthday at his Teignmouth home with parents Jemma Hill and Craig Edwards – has suffered poor health since he was born, been in and out of hospital, and undergone four heart operations and major stomach surgery.

'Corey has just come home from Bristol after a long stay. He now has lung and asthmatic problems and is connected to an oxygen tank 24/7.

'The smile and look in his eyes makes me realise just how lucky I am to breathe normally. His battle for life, amazes me beyond words,' said Mr Tribble
