WOMEN who love jumping on their bikes and getting out and about are being encouraged to sign up to a Teignbridge backed sporty scheme.

The Breeze Bike Rides for Beginners offers a hassle free experience to women that are new to cycling or haven’t been on a bike in ages.

British Cycling has teamed up with the district authority and the Breeze network to put the rides on.

Ten rides have been planned in Newton Abbot starting on March 22 until May 24.

All of the rides start and finish at the Pro Cycle Centre Bike Shop in Wharf Road.

Teignbridge’s executive for recreation and leisure Cllr George Gribble said: ‘This is a great opportunity for women who enjoy riding a bike to get involved with an inspiring network.

‘The rides are designed to be friendly, fun and easy for complete beginners to try it out.’

Places on the rides are limited and can be booked via www.letsride.co.uk.
