A HOST of world class cycling superstars will be racing into Teignmouth during the Tour of Britain next month.

Among them are triple Olympic champion and Tour de France rider Bradley Wiggins, who will lead the renowned Sky team, which also includes top British riders Russell Downing, Steve Cummings, and national road race champion Geraint Thomas, who wore the white jersey of best young rider in the Tour de France.

Fellow Olympian and national circuit race champion Ed Clancy will head the Motorpoint-Marshalls Pasta team, that also contains GB track cyclist Andy Tennant, and double Halford tour series winner and reigning British cyclo-cross champion, Ian Bibby.

Nearly 100 pro cyclists will finish the fourth stage from Minehead on Teignmouth seafront on Tuesday, September 14, and excitement at the town hosting such a prestigious event, is gradually building.

Up to 20,000 cycling enthusiasts could descend on Teignmouth, and many may choose to linger longer in the area. It could provide a big economic boost to hard pressed local businesses - if they grab the opportunity.
