Newton Abbot Rotary Club made a series of presentations to several of the town’s youth groups at Dainton Park Golf Club.
Receiving the monney were 1st Newton Abbot Rainbows, 1st Newton Abbot Brownies, 5th Newton Abbot Brownies, 1st Newton Abbot Guides and Newton Abbot Rangers, who had all requested help after the setbacks caused by the Covid pandemic.
The money weas raised through the generosity of people attending the vaccine centres of Halcyon car park, Cricket Field car park and Newton Abbot Race Course.
The donations were given to the marshals from Rotary Newton Abbot and Friends and volunteers, about 70 in total, who assisted, guided and advised those receiving vaccinations throughout the one-year period, regardless of the weather conditions and their own family problems.
Eight other deserving bodies will also receive a gift of monies for their needs that they requested at an appropriate place and time.
The presentations were made by Jeremy Newcombe, president elect of Rotary Newton Abbot and the presentation was honoured by the attendance of Jean Corbyn The County Commissioner of Devon Guides.
