A DRINK-driver who was more than four times over the limit received a suspended prison sentence at South and West Devon Magistrates’ Court.
Rebecca Louise Cotterill, aged 49, of Joslin Court, Robers Road, Kingsteignton, admitted driving a Ford Transit van in Fore Street, Kingsteignton, when over the drink-drive limit. A breath test revealed she had 151 mcgs of alcohol in 100 mls of breath. The limit is 35 mcgs.
She was sentenced to prison for eight weeks, suspended for a year with the court ruling custody was necessary because of the ‘very high reading of alcohol in breath and very poor standard of driving’.
She was also ordered to take part in an ‘accredited programme’ for 15 days and carry out 40 hours of unpaid work.
Cotterill must pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service and £154 to fund victim services.
