A BUCKFASTLEIGH scaffolding firm has been fined a total £6,000 for using a vehicle on the A38 without a test certificate and exceeding its weight limit.

Pole Position South West Ltd, trading as PPS Scaffolding, of Springfield Park, Buckfastleigh, pleaded guilty to the use of a motor vehicle on the road on March 7 2022 at St Budeaux when there was no test certificate in force.

Magistrates also ordered the company to pay a victim surcharge of £190 and costs of £273.

The company also pleaded guilty to using a large goods vehicle or passenger carrying vehicle on the A38 at St Budeaux on March 7 2022 when the maximum train weight shown on the plate was exceeded and the weight restriction overloaded.
