THE CASE against a Newton Abbot man for criminal damage and using an air rifle to fire missiles from his home have been dismissed.

Peter Caraher, 72, of Buckland Brake, had been charged with using the weapon to fire missiles and damaging a greenhouse in June 2021.

Magistrates ordered no further action be taken.

The charges are to lie on file.

A further charge of using an ‘electronic communications network’ to cause annoyance, inconvenience and anxiety was withdrawn.
