A CONVICTED killer has today admitted attacking a police officer and now faces a life jail sentence.
Guy Pottle admitted unlawfully wounding the female constable during an incident in Newton Abbot in the early hours of February 10 this year.
Pottle, 39, also admitted attempting to cause her grievous bodily harm with intent during the same incident in the town’s Drake Road.
The officer was taken to hospital and was later discharged.
Pottle, from Exeter, denied a charge of attempting to murder the officer and a charge of causing actual bodily harm to a second woman.
The prosecution accepted the guilty pleas and Pottle will be sentenced later after reports are prepared.
In 2019 Pottle was jailed for six years for killing a man with a single punch outside a Tesco Metro store in Exeter.
Pottle struck 41-year-old Antony Moore as they argued over a bottle of wine and the victim hit his head on the ground and died in hospital nine days later in June 2018.
The incident was caught on CCTV and Pottle was convicted of manslaughter.
Exeter Crown Court was told that Pottle, who is Exeter Jail, is facing a life sentence.
