The district authority is hoping to install the public internet in Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Dawlish town centres in the next year.
Council chiefs are also looking at extending the Wi-Fi to Ashburton, Bovey Tracey and Buckfastleigh – but only if phase one is successful and generates income for the authority.
The latest venture was unearthed in the council’s draft Economic Development Plan which sets out how the authority is planning on supporting businesses.
Members of the council’s Overview and Scrutiny committee are set to scrutinise the plans on Monday morning at Forde House from 10am.
