AN eyesore and derelict Victorian Teignmouth house will be tidied up by the local authority and the bill sent to the owner.
Marlyn House, in Second Drive, off Landscore Road, has been unoccupied for years and become overgrown with vegetation.
Neighbours have complained it is a mess, lowering the value of other properties and attracting vermin and possible squatters.
Now Teignbridge Council has had enough and served a notice to say it will carry out the necessary works to prevent unauthorised access to the property.
The move has been welcomed by ward councillor Sylvia Russell,
