TEIGNBRIDGE District Council (TDC) say it is hoping to get the keys to Broadmeadow Leisure Centre back by July as it updates residents on the facility’s refurbishment.

Having received an update from its contractors working on the site, TDC say that, in spite of a small delay, it hopes to receive the keys back in late July.

Once the keys are back in its hands, the council says it will then take a couple of weeks preparing for the reopening.

This will include installing gym equipment, signage and branding, staff training and inductions and safety checks, as well as a final clean to get the centre perfect for its members.

‘We will keep you informed of an official opening date as soon as we have it, so keep an eye on Teignbridge Leisure's Facebook and Instagram pages for the latest updates’ the council said.

‘You don't need to do anything if you're a member whose membership has been frozen during refurbishment.

‘We will automatically extend all freezes until we reopen.

‘Thanks to our members for your patience during the centre upgrade; it will be worth it!

‘And a special thank you to our Broadmeadow Sports Centre staff for maintaining high energy in Unit 9 and Richard Newton Hall’ the council added.
