A SCHEME to convert a derelict Teignmouth garage into a temporary arts and community centre is well on target.
A band of enthusiasts, the Teignmouth Arts Advisory Group, wants to utilise the former Swanson's Garage in Northumberland Place into a venue that can be used by organisations in the town at a reasonable rate.
Roger Smith, the chairman, told town councillors that numerous meetings had been held with Teignbridge Council, owner of the property which is eventually due for redevelopment, and had accepted responsibility for repairs to the roof.
