TEIGNMOUTH composer, songwriter and choir director David Haines is as 'chuffed as anything' to be one of the first educators featured in a new publication being sent to all schools and colleges in the region.

School Select 2011 is a catalogue of educational services which can either provide visits to schools or host visits by students.

'I am especially pleased they have included my main entry in the stem (science, technology, engineering and maths) section.

'Over the last few years my work has gradually focussed more and more on songs inspired by science, whether written by me or in collaborative workshops settings and elsewhere,' said Mr Haines.

He will happily offer songwriting workshops on any area of the curriculum , but is keen to cover science topics,
