THE closure of three main roads at the same time in Teignmouth has come under fire from local councillors.

They maintain the works should have been staggered to minimise the traffic disruption.

Cllr Sylvia Russell, chairman of the finance and general purposes committee, said on Tuesday that many residents were in the dark over the reasons why New Road was being closed for three months for works connected with the new housing estate.
