Shaldon Singers return to performing at a Christmas concert on Saturday, December 4, at St Peter’s Church, Shaldon.

For musical director Tim Crompton, the concert will be his first since taking over in April 2020. The choir are presenting a varied programme, with piano and organ accompaniment from Andrew Millington.

Handel’s The King Shall Rejoice and a Credo by Vivaldi are set alongside contemporary works: Howard Goodall’s The Lord is My Shepherd and John Rutter’s settings of All Things Bright and Beautiful and For the Beauty of the Earth.

A selection of carols and readings completes the programme. The audience will not be encouraged to join in the singing and are requested to wear masks.

There will be a retiring collection in aid of Devon Freewheelers, the voluntary courier service providing out of hours emergency deliveries for Devon hospitals, also known as Blood Bikes.

The concert starts at 7pm. For more details, see www.shaldonsingers.co.uk.
