A CHARITY taster day featuring yoga, meditation and holistic therapies will raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West as Dartmoor Reach Alpaca Farm opens its Love Yoga Tree studio for a special fundraising event next month.

The event, which takes place from 10am to 6.45pm on Saturday, July 4, marks the first time the studio has been opened for a dedicated charity day, brings together a full programme of wellbeing sessions led by local teachers, all offering their time voluntarily in support of the hospice.

Owners Natalie and Josh Hyson, who run Dartmoor Reach Alpaca Farm, have built their business around helping people slow down, reconnect with nature and find a more peaceful pace of life.

The site welcomes hundreds of glamping guests each year, while Love Yoga Tree offers year-round classes designed to support calm and wellbeing.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Children’s Hospice South West, a cause Natalie says is especially close to her heart.

Her youngest sister experienced brain damage following an epileptic seizure as a baby, an experience she says has given her a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by families living with complex medical needs.

She said the charity plays a vital role in supporting both children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

‘Support for parents and families is essential to helping keep children in the home environment for as long as they can’, she said.

Natalie has brought together the studio’s teaching team to offer eight 40-minute taster sessions throughout the day, including Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Qigong, Tai Chi, Kundalini Yoga, Yin Yoga, Guided Meditation and a Sound Bath.

Visitors can attend the full programme or drop in for individual sessions.

Guests are also welcome to spend time at the alpaca farm, with opportunities to relax outdoors and even feed the animals. Participants can bring their own lunch and enjoy the setting between sessions.

Natalie and Josh hope the event will become an annual fixture, combining wellbeing, nature and fundraising in support of a cause they feel strongly about.

‘Expect a day of fun, connection and a real sense of how good it feels to take time out for yourself’, Natalie said.

‘And to enjoy the beautiful healing balm of nature’, Natalie added.
