AN EXMINSTER-BASED charity is on the hunt for new trustees.

Westbank Community Health and Care, a health and wellbeing charity that is extending its services across the whole of Devon, is on the lookout for new trustees who can offer experience and a fresh perspective.

The award-winning charity provides community-based health and wellbeing services across the county, delivered by a team of staff and volunteers. Westbank’s board of trustees, all volunteers, bring their diverse range of skills to the charity, helping people of all ages to live fulfilled, healthier, happier lives for longer and maintain their independence for as long as possible.

As the charity expands its work, it is looking for new volunteers with opportunities for several new trustees, specifically those with Finance, Business, people management and legal expertise.

CEO Sarah Hicks said: ‘Are you the special someone we’re looking for?

‘As a Board member you would help shape the direction of our charity and provide a valuable layer of operational and financial governance.

‘You would become part of a motivated team who make a real difference to our community.

‘We aren't too demanding of your time; you would be asked to attend a two-hour Board Meeting quarterly in Exminster and ideally commit to a few extra hours in between.

‘I can promise you a very warm welcome and the opportunity to put your skillset to fantastic use helping others, including some of the most vulnerable in our community.

‘Next year will mark the charity’s 40th anniversary and, as a trustee, you will be helping steer Westbank towards the next exciting chapter.’

Westbank welcomes applications from individuals regardless of their specific skills.

However, the board would particularly benefit from expertise in the areas of finance, commercial law and fundraising or income generation.
