MORE than 650 keen quizzers took part in the Rotary Club of Dawlish Water’s charity evening, raising £2,400.

Forty-two teams joined in the quiz which Rotarians run twice a year.

Total money raised in both quizzes held this year now totals £5,200.

From the latest quiz funds, Dawlish Water Rotary will be donating £500 to the local Dictionaries4Life schools projects and a further £500 will go to the Rotary foundation’s Thanks4Life Polio Plus campaign to eradicate polio worldwide.

In addition, £1,050 has gone to charities chosen by the various winning teams from the night and the balance will go to other Rotary sponsored local charities in the next few months.

For the second successive quiz, the winning team was from The Artichoke at Christow with 188 out of 195.

Their charity prize of £250 is going to Prostate Cancer UK.

The team, which had 31 players on the night, also won a half case of wine and the top team trophy.SEE TODAY'S PAPER FOR MORE WINNERS.
