AN independent sight loss charity is celebrating a monumental milestone with a special celebration dinner next month.

Devon in Sight is hosting two special events this September at the historic Exeter Rougemont Hotel to mark 100 years.

On Tuesday, September 17, the charity will host its ‘Centenary Celebration Dinner’.

The night will commence with reception drinks in the Nelson Suite, followed by dinner in the Cavendish Ballroom.

The charity's patron, Lady Devon of Powderham Castle and Steve Darling MP are due to attend.

The evening will also feature entertainment from pianist and singer, Henry Newbury, a charity raffle and an auction.

Tickets are just £55 per person, but with limited spaces.

The following day, Wednesday, September 18, celebrations continue, with the annual Devon Sight Loss Conference.

The day will feature insightful seminars, a ‘Living Well with Sight Loss’ exhibition, and the charity’s 100th Annual General Meeting.

Seminars will cover a range of fascinating topics, including: Innovations in Assistive Technology with Sight & Sound Technology Limited; Gene Therapy and the Latest Clinical Trials with The Retina Clinic London; Understanding the Role of a Rehabilitation Officer Visual Impairment (ROVI) with Devon County Council and NHS Ophthalmology Services including Cataract Surgery with SpaMedica.

If you are someone affected by sight loss (including family, friends and carers) you can attend for just £12 per person.

Professional delegates can attend for just £15 per person.

Your ticket will include access to a morning and afternoon seminar, the exhibition, plus refreshments and a light sandwich lunch.

The deadline for all bookings is Friday, September 5
