VISITORS to this year’s Chagford Show will have the chance to speak directly to officers who specialise in rural crime.

Devon and Cornwall Police’s Rural Affairs Team will be at the Chagford Agricultural and Horticultural Show from 9am on Thursday, August 20.

The team will be available to discuss rural crime concerns and offer advice on protecting farms, businesses, property and livestock.

Topics could include the theft of farm vehicles and equipment, livestock theft and livestock worrying.

Officers from Heart of the South-West Trading Standards will also be attending.

Police are encouraging farmers and members of the wider rural community to visit their stand, meet the team and discuss any concerns they may have about rural crime.
