2021 marks 70 years since Dartmoor was formally designated a National Park – one of the first in the country, coming in the same year as the Peak District, the Lake District and Snowdonia.

To mark this milestone, an exhibition is on at the National Park Visitor Centre in Princetown.

A spokesperson said: ‘We teamed up with the Dartmoor Trust (https://dartmoortrust.org/) , a charity run entirely by volunteers, which holds a rich archive with thousands of images, audio recordings and videos of Dartmoor’s past.

‘We’d love for you to take time to visit and celebrate this special landscape with us. It’s free too - so why not come along? The exhibition is on during usual opening hours until 24 April 2022.’

The exhibition celebrates the many aspects of Dartmoor: living, working, visiting and the natural environment.

As part of the exhibition, you’re encouraged to make a pledge to keep Dartmoor special. Your pledge will help keep the National Park special.
