A CAR was well alight this afternoon (Saturday) near Moretonhampstead.

Fire control received multiple calls to the fire.

A spokesperson added: ‘Fire control mobilised one fire appliance from Mortonhampstead.

‘Once on scene crews confirmed well alight and requested an additional appliance for water. We mobilised this from Chagford.

‘Crews confirmed that all occupants of the vehicle were clear of the vehicle which we fully extinguished using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.’
