COUNCILLORS have been urged to play 'hardball' with any landowners holding up the long-awaited Teign estuary cycle-walkway.

So says John Potts, the head of the largest leisure cycling club in the area, after hearing that two landowners are objecting to sections of the route between Kingsteignton and Bishopsteignton.

'This trail would be the jewel in the crown, and probably be as popular as the Camel Trail between Padstow and Bodmin in Cornwall, which brings in tourists all the year round, and has given a massive boost to the local economy,' said Mr Potts, of the Teign Valley Pedal Bashers.
