Mrs B MOODY, of Lower Drive, Dawlish, writes:
Isn't it about time that horseriders should also be subject to bylaws in relation to dog owners who, quite rightly, have to pick up after their dogs?
A female rider I have seen many times rides her steed along Lady's Mile, Dawlish, and then on to anywhere else around. Yet once again the horse has dropped very large 'dollops', this time on the pavement not far away from the post office. The pavement is used by everyone including children, either going or coming to the local shop.
As dog owners (with one or two exceptions, usually men) we always pick up after our dogs and take a dim view of anyone who so willingly pollutes the walking area of others. It's about time that horseriders should be riding either in country lanes or preferably fields. If not, then carry a big bag and shovel and do the same as we do – pick it up.
What do your readers think when there is one law for dog owners and none at all for horses?
