Gales Hill slipway was host to an enormous visitor on Tuesday afternoon, writes Robert Phipps.
The MTS Terramare drawfed other vessels, looking like a huge landing craft with a hydraulic drop-down ramp for taking equipment on board.
It loaded up two large construction vehicles and took them to Dawlish to work on the new sea wall.
They could not fit under the railway bridge, and as there is no other place to gain access this is the only way for them to be transported to the seafront.
