A BRAVE Dawlish shop manager is taking to the air for a skydive in aid of a local charity.
Lauren Kalynuk, manager of the Local Scoop ice cream shop, has taken the decision to carry on with her skydive from 10,000ft on Wednesday.
Lauren, 22, is raising money for Dawlish-based Roots Community Enhancement which runs free support groups.
She said: ‘I meet so many people that have benefitted from Roots so I decided I would do something to help.
‘I have never sky dived before and I am equally excited and terrified.’
She has decided to carry one following the recent death of a skydiver and her instructor.
Cllr Rosie Dawson, who is one of Roots volunteers, said: ‘Lauren has never done anything like this and she is particularly brave given the circumstances.
‘We have told her there is no pressure but she has decided to continue, subject to the weather and a safety assessment.’
Lauren is aiming to raise £750.
