THE poor winter and spring weather was a setback for gardeners, but it did not stop them cultivating some glorious blooms for the annual Teignmouth in bloom contest.
Royal Horticultural Society judge Roy Halsey came to town to judge the entries and was impressed how the green fingered fraternity bounced back from the setbacks of the rain, cold and wind.
He was impressed with their efforts, which he said enhanced the streets of the town.
He was driven around by Viv Wilson, the Post columnist and local historian, who films the gardens during the judging process and presents the film during the awards ceremony in September.
