NEW homes can be built on the site of a disused Scout Hut in Bishopsteignton after planners approved the scheme.
Teignbridge Council has granted permission for the former Scout Hut at Radway Hill to be demolished and replaced by two semi-detached houses.
The application, submitted by Teign Property Holdings Ltd, was made under planning reference 26/00898/FUL.
The permission is subject to conditions, including a requirement for the development to begin within three years.
The proposals would make use of the previously developed site.
Documents submitted with the application said the development would provide a ‘more efficient use’ of the land, while respecting the character and scale of the surrounding area.
The applicants said the principle of building homes on the site had already been established through previous planning permissions.
The design and access statement said the scheme would provide a ‘sustainable and appropriate form of development’.
