INTERNATIONALLY renowned Coldplay took to the stage at Powderham Castle to entertain an audience of 25,000 people.

The band headlined day two of BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend.

Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin, from Exeter, returned to his stomping ground to give an outstanding performance, claiming Devon was the 'best county on earth.'

The award winning band played classics including Fix You, The Scientist and Yellow as well as some new material.

Chris Martin also payed tribute to the late Prince, singing Raspberry Beret.

He also dedicated the song to his mum and dad, who he claimed conceived him a few metres away from where he was performing.
