TEIGNBRIDGE planners are being asked to approve a bid to fell 25 fir trees in Teignmouth as they are in a dangerous condition and if they fall, will block a road.
The Douglas firs are on land in Holcombe Down Road and are showing signs of leaning, prompting fears they are likely to come down.
Early this year, one tree had to be felled as its roots were coming out of the ground.
If it had not been removed, at some point it would have fallen across the road.
A second tree is now leaning badly.
If permission is granted, they will be replaced with 25 Nordic hardwood trees such as oaks.
A decision is expected by planners in early February.
