NINJA Turtles, Harry Potter, The Red Arrows, escaped convicts and even the Prime Minister all took to the streets of Shaldon today (Sunday, December 26).

Such characters of course could only mean that it was the welcome return of the annual Boxing Day Three- Legged Run.

The fancy-dress extravaganza, organised by Shaldon Water Carnival, is one of the most colourful and craziest of Boxing Day events in the area with runners in a range of imaginative costumes, and of course bound at the ankles, taking a dash around the pubs of Shaldon.

Watch out for a picture special in this coming week’s Mid-Devon Advertiser (out on Thursday, December 30)
