It is well known that there have been a number of major planning proposals put to our councils in recent weeks.

The one for 40 houses on the prominent skyline ridge above Higher Woodway Road was debated by Teignbridge Council Planning Committee on December 16 and was refused by 20 votes to 1. We, the coordinating committee for objectors, would like to thank the 166-plus people who wrote individual letters of objection and those who delivered letters and leaflets to houses north of New Road, together with those many who gave us encouragement to fight. While a battle has been won, the conflict may well continue, should the proposers decide to appeal against the decision – but for now much thanks.
